　館長の町田初子さん（６２）＝錬士６段＝は空手の魅力を女性に広めるため、
１９９９年に道場を開設。
現在、２０代から７０代までの女性と子どもたち計４０人がけいこに汗を流している。
町田さんは「沖縄では女の子が１３歳になると１３祝がある。私たち女性道場も１３年の節目を迎え、成長の証しとして演武会を開くことになった」と話す。

　演武会では門下生が次々登場し、型や組手を披露。琉舞にぬふぁぬ会や玉城流翔節会の安里タマ子さん、永山蕗江バイオリン室内合唱団も友情出演し、花を添えた。
